With support from the Holy Spirit, The Active Church and its Senior Pastors, it’s no wonder a product like this comes out. We aim to give you a quality product that will inspire you and glorify the name of our King, Jesus the Christ.
Active FM can be downloaded weekly for free on www.activefm.co.za. We encourage you to copy these shows on to CD's and even bluetooth them to as many people as you would like.
We also have a live broadcast on Friday nights at 9pm (GMT +2). This live broadcast can be listened to on the Active FM. Simpoly log in and listen.
This vision was birthed around 2001. Yeah, I know, it’s been a long time, but the wait was worth it. It’s quite a funny story actually so listen up...
Gavin Enslin, who is now our senior pastor used to run a youth ministry called Active Youth. At that time, he approached Shane Van der Walt, who is now our youth pastor, and told him about starting a Christian radio station. This station would be exposing all the quality Christian music across all genres and would be an alternative radio station for all Christians that are young at heart. So you can bet Shane was excited. But the funny thing is: Shane thought the radio station already existed, but it's something he had to begin building and it's been quite a journey.
Our Story
Years later, Active FM now has a team that is under the authority of The Active Church. We are a Biblically based radio station that wants to inspire the listener to be hungry for a life with Jesus Christ, to have a passion for the Gospel and a love for Christian music. This would influence the way we live, helping to reduce the negative impact secular music has in terms of issues such as sexual immorality, rebellion, anger and hate to name but a few. So listen to one of the shows and you’ll see; a life with Christ is not bland. It’s exciting, and so is His music: “Christ music is hot music!”
The Active Church is based in Selby which is south of the Johannesburg CBD. It is a vibrant church, passionate about the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. The Active Church is pastored by senior pastors, Gavin and Vicky Enslin.
